Baseball and softball in Stockholm

Baseball has been played in the Stockholm area since the mid-1940s. Today, over 70 years later, the Stockholm district has seven active baseball clubs: Stockholm, Sundbyberg, Alby, Enskede, City/Kungsängen, Los Nicas and Botkyrka.

The first softball games in in Sweden were played in the Stockholm area in 1976. At present, Söder Softboll is the district's only active softball club.

Söder Softboll

Söder Softboll was founded in 1999 and is the only softball team in the district playing in the national series. Söder has recently restarted their youth program.

Enskede Baseboll Klubb

The club, established on October 5, 1994, was known as Globen BGinners BK before changing their name to Enskede Baseboll Klubb. They have a senior team in the regional series.

Alby IF Baseboll

Alby IF Baseboll began in 1974 as Alby Baseboll Club, and became part of the sports club Alby IF in 1975. For the 2016 season Alby has a senior team in the regional series, och youth teams for both U15 and U12.

Sundbyberg Baseboll och Softboll Club

Sundbyberg was founded in 1972. They have a broad youth program, with teams for juniors (16-19), U15 and U12. The club's seniors play in the national elite series.

Stockholm Baseboll och Softboll Klubb

Stockholm BSK was established in 1990 by the uniting of two clubs: Bagarmossen (founded 1956) and Skarpnäck (founded 1961). The club has steady grown and now has teams in every age group from U12 to seniors (adult). Stockholm has also started a program for ages 6-8.
